Writing code used to be a substantial part of the work. Today, an engineer working well with modern AI tools can produce in hours what once took days.

That has not made engineering easier. It has raised the standard.

Companies need fewer people simply to turn specifications into code. They need engineers who can enter an unfamiliar codebase, understand what matters, make good decisions quickly, use AI without surrendering judgment, recognize bad code when they see it, and move a product forward without being told exactly how.

Computer science gives you the foundations.

xShift begins where the degree ends.

You join the team.

  • There is already a product.

  • There is already a codebase.

  • There is already work to do.

You get access to the team's GitHub, Slack, Notion and development environment. From that point on, xShift works less like a course and more like an engineering team.

You pick up real tasks. You work through unfamiliar code. You work with AI every day. You open pull requests, review other people's work, respond to feedback, make decisions, break things, fix them, and ship.

Not another student project.
This product has to work.

Five weeks.

One live engineering session each week. The rest happens between them — in the codebase, in daily standups, through pull requests, reviews, decisions and mistakes.

  1. 01Join

    Get the codebase running. Understand the product. Find your way through unfamiliar code. Pick up your first task.

  2. 02Build

    Open your first pull requests. Code gets reviewed. Assumptions get challenged. What looked finished usually isn't.

  3. 03Adapt

    Requirements change. Something breaks. Your solution meets an existing system, other people's code and real constraints.

  4. 04Ship

    The product leaves your machine. Deployment, failures, edge cases and everything that appears when software has to work for someone else.

  5. 05Defend

    Ship the product. Walk through your decisions and tradeoffs. Explain what worked, what didn't, and what you would do differently.

Who gets in.

xShift is built for outstanding computer science students and recent graduates who already know how to program — and want to find out how far they can take it.

You don't need to know our stack. You don't need prior experience with React, Next.js or MongoDB. You do need strong foundations, curiosity, independence and the ability to learn quickly when nobody gives you a tutorial.

Admission is selective. We review your academic background, CV and previous work. Some applicants may be asked to complete a short technical task.

You don't need to arrive knowing the stack.

You need to be able to learn it.

Founder, xShift

Eliran is a software engineer, architect and technology founder. A Computer Science graduate of the Technion, he has spent more than a decade building software at Intel, Cybereason, Lifion by ADP, Axonius and Wix, working across product engineering, large-scale systems and software architecture.

Today, he is the founder and CEO of Wonder, an AI-native learning platform for higher education, and a lecturer at Reichman University.

Questions.

When is the next xShift cohort?
The next cohort begins 7 October 2026 and runs for five weeks through 10 November 2026. Live engineering sessions are Wednesdays, 18:00–21:00 Israel time (7 Oct, 14 Oct, 21 Oct, 28 Oct, and 4 Nov). Participants are expected to attend all five live sessions.
How much does xShift cost?
₪2,500 for the full five-week program. Access to the team's development tools and working environment is included.
How much time should I expect to spend each week?
xShift is not limited to the live sessions. Most of the work happens between them — building, reviewing code, joining daily standups and working with the team. You should expect to make meaningful time for xShift throughout the five weeks.
Do I need to know React, Next.js or MongoDB?
No. You need strong programming and computer science foundations, but familiarity with our particular stack is not required. Learning unfamiliar technology quickly is part of the program.
Can I use AI?
Yes. You are expected to. Modern AI tools are part of the working environment at xShift. What matters is not whether you use them, but whether you understand, judge and take responsibility for what you ship.
Is xShift online?
Yes. Live sessions take place online, and the team works together throughout the week through the xShift engineering environment.
What language is the program in?
Live sessions and everyday communication may be in Hebrew. Code, documentation, tickets, pull requests and the engineering environment are in English.
Does xShift help participants find a job?
xShift is not a placement program and does not guarantee employment. Exceptional participants may be introduced to companies in our network when there is a relevant opportunity.
Who can apply?
xShift is designed for strong computer science students and recent graduates. Admission is selective, and submitting an application does not guarantee a place.
What happens after I apply?
We review every application individually. If accepted, you'll receive an invitation to enroll and secure your place in the upcoming cohort.
